Setup Information
Before you begin, there is some information you will need to have
handy to setup your email client.
Mail Server names:
POP3: mail.YourDomain.com
SMTP: this is provided by your ISP. Contact us for further
assistance.
SENDING EMAIL:
In the event you use our SMTP services we will email you
instructions on how to connect to our servers.
Username and Password:
Usually The RBDI Group's customer's usernames will be the first
part of your email address. So if your email address is "somebody@example.net"
Your username will be "somebody."
Setup
- Once you have Outlook Express open, Click on Tools
on the menu on the top.
- Click on Accounts.
- Click on the Mail tab to view any accounts
already setup. If you are no longer using them you can remove
them by clicking on unused account to highlight it and click on
the Remove button.
- Click on the Add button the click on
Mail....
- Fill out the Display name field with the name you
would like to appear when sending email.
- Enter in your email address. Click on Next.
- Using the pull down menu, ensure that the field for "My
incoming mail server is a," is POP3.
- For "Incoming mail server" and "Outgoing mail server" Type
in the mail server names in lowercase letters only. (see above
for names)
- Click on Next.
- For the "Account name," fill in your username.
- Fill in your password. If you do not want to type
in your password every time you check your email, place a check
in the box next to "Remember password."
- Click Next.
- Usually you will not see the screen below. If you do select
the type of connection you are using . If have high speed
internet use the "Connect using my local area network". For
dial-up customers, use "Connect using my phone lines."
- Click Next.
- Once you click on Finish, you are ready to
check you email.
