MacMail 1.1Setup Information Before you begin, there is some information you will need to have handy to setup your email client. Mail Server names: POP3: mail.YourDomain.com SENDING EMAIL: In the event you use our SMTP services we will email you instructions on how to connect to our servers. Username and Password: Usually The RBDI Group's customer's usernames will be the first part of your email address. So if your email address is "somebody@example.net" Your username will be "somebody." Setup Mac Mail currently has 3 versions that were shipped with Mac OS X. When you log in for the first time, you may get a setup Wizard, you can follow along with the Wizard, or cancel and follow the steps below. Below is the version of Mac Mail that was installed with Mac OS 10.0-10.1 (Mail 1.1). We also have the setup for the version of Mac Mail that came with Mac OS 10.3 (Mail 1.3). To begin, you should have a Stamp Icon in your menu bar at the bottom of the screen. Click on it to open Mac Mail. ![]()
On the top menu bar, click on Mail, and go to Preferences... ![]() On the top of the new screen you will see 6 icons, click on the Account Icon making sure it is highlighted. Under Descriptions you will see a list of all your email accounts. If you do not have one setup, it will be empty. Click on Create Account. ![]()
Making sure that the Account Information Tab is highlighted, fill out the relevant information: Account Type = Using the pull down menu, choose POP Account. Description = This labels the account, you can use your email address or Nationwide. Email Address = Your email address. Full Name = Type in your name as you would like it seen when sending mail. (First,Last or Nickname) Host Name = This is the POP or Incoming mail server name. Should be of the form mail.domain.tld. (see above) User Name= Your user name. (see above) Password = Your email password. SMTP Host = This is the Outgoing mail server. Should be of the form mail.domain.tld. (see above) Once you have all information filled out, click on OK. ![]() |
